Kyboe Large Fashion Watches Review
Sep 3rd, 2010 by Mabel Xie

Kyboe is a watch brand based in Netherlands. It specializes in making fashion watches that are highly affordable for most people. And while the fashion is still about large watches, the brand has stayed a step ahead by launching Giant watches. The latest Kyboe watch, for example, is available in two large sizes- 48mm and 55mm in diameter. Except the large sizes, this watch offers a large selection of bold color schemes for choosing.

Available in two sizes and various colors, the watch basically has the same design on each model. The design, however, is not original at all. Kyboe borrows ideas from all kinds of dive watches and mix them into this watch. The dial, for example, reminds me of Rolex Explorer watches at first sight. The huge case, is crafted from stainless steel. Except a large crown protected by two shoulders, it is equipped with an additional pusher button, though not sure what it is used for. Judging from the low pricing at about $200, the glass must be a mineral crystal that is much cheaper than sapphire crystal. The markings on the dial are in the same/contrasting color of the bezel markings, while the rubber strap comes with same color of the bezel.

To sum up, the main selling points for the new Kyboe watches are large size, fashionable colors, and low pricing. At present, these watches are available in Europe and Asia. Not sure when they will come to US. But I am sure they will be welcomed in US with their big sizes and competitive price.

Defakto One Hand Watch Review
Sep 3rd, 2010 by Mabel Xie

While most people go for watches of complex complications, some are in pursuit of extremely simplified timepieces. Knowing this, some watch brands turn to make non-mainstream watches. Defakto, a very young German watch brand, for example, has created a special watch with just one hand, trying to redefine the feeling of time and the tradition concept of a watch.

The Defakto one hand watch , a brainchild between this brand and the designer  Raphael Ickler, is available in plain stainless steel and black pvd coated. Each version comes with black or white dial variants. As the name suggest, the dial has just one hand that is responsible for telling the hours and the minutes. With the help of the 5 minute indexes, you can have a general idea of the current minute. To get the exact minute with just one glimpse, the wearer must have some practice. So though the dial is very neat, I could not say it is the same easy to read the time. Completed the Defakto watch is a black leather strap. Not sure what beats inside. It should be an modified automatic movement from the third party, I guess. And via the display case back, you can have a clear view of this movement.

Surely, this is not a watch for everyone. It will surely appeal to those who love simplified watches that sports novel design and free lifestyle. On the other hand, it is certainly not the cup of tea for people who like watches with exact timekeeping.

IWC Blue Big Pilot Watch
Sep 2nd, 2010 by Raven

The Big Pilot collection is one of IWC’s most famous and best well-received watch lines. And it is recently enriched by a new model named IWC Blue Big Pilot Limited Edition. The new Big Pilot watch features special blue/black color scheme.

Like most modern Big Pilot watches, this watch houses an IWC Calibre 51111. To my knowledge, this 42-jewel automatic movement is one of the biggest automatic movements currently available on this planet. Developed from the Calibre 50000, this movement, with a huge mainspring, is able to store energy for nearly 200-hour using. But to keep high precision of the watch, IWC makes it stop automatically after 7-day accurate running.

To accommodate the large movement, the stainless steel case is made to 46.2mm x 15.8mm. With refined finishing on the surface, the fairly big case also houses an additional soft iron safety cage which is meant to enhance the anti-magnetic performance of the watch. The watch crown, in the brand’s signature diamond shape, is fixed at 3 o’clock position, always ready for your adjusting operation.

However, I have quite mixed feeling about the watch’s blue/black color scheme. On one hand, this color scheme differentiates this model from other Big Pilot watches; On the other hand, it weakens the gorgeous high-legibility and high contrast the family is famous for. Of course, I believe that the bright-blue SuperLuminova used on markers and markings will ensure optimal reading in places of conditions. So I am a bit glad that the color of the date wheel remains in white-on-black, which nicely echoes with the white arrow on the power reserve indicator that is placed at  3 o’clock. Position.

According to IWC, the Blue Big Pilot watch is limited to just 50 pieces, each of which bears “One out of Fifty” engraving on the case side. And it is exclusively sold a a few boutiques in Beverly Hills, California and Las Vegas.

High Heels-You Want to Walk in Them All the Time
Aug 31st, 2010 by Raven

High heels have long ago become a symbol of nobility and elegance. They are a necessary companion for women for their both aesthetic and practical value. And with the development of modern footwear technology, there emerged more and more designs and styles. But we’ve got to admit, however graceful high heels can make us look, they are not as comfortable as flat-heeled shoes and can sometimes cause sprains and fractures. Then knowing how to choose a good pair of high heels is ever more important.

Stiletto shoes have never been out of favor on the catwalks and red carpets with their heels becoming taller and slimmer. While selecting them, remember to pay special attention to the materials of the heels and see if they are steady. Stilettos’ heels can easily fret and thus cause unsteadiness of walking. Also remember to see whether two shoes are of the same height. Even a slight difference in height could lead to discomfort in walking.

If you are fond of pointed-toe high heels, bother to try them one for as long as you think necessary. The extremely narrow toe part, if not right can pinch toes and cause pain. So make sure they are of the right size and not pinch toes. When the heels are too high, the whole foot will slip towards to the toe part and pinch toes even more. Avoid too high heels.

Wedge high heels are comparatively more comfortable than other types. But their thick soles can make the shoes too heavy to walk in. Remember to check the materials of the soles and see if they are too heavy. Avoid wedge shoes with thick wedges for they can cause unsteady walking.

A good pair of high heels can not only make you look slender and taller, it’s the shoes you feel like step into every time you want to go outside. So picking a right pair of high heels is what would make that happen.

Review of Bvlgari Octo Bi-Retro With Steel Ceramic Combo
Aug 27th, 2010 by Mabel Xie

At first sight, the brand-new Bvlgari Octo Bi-Retro watch reminds me of the gorgeous Gerald Genta Octo Bi-Retro watch. Obviously, Bvlgari borrows some design idea from Gerald Genta to present this new beauty in nice combo of stainless steel and ceramic, though it adds a few the brand’s iconic features as well.

Thanks to the Caliber GG7722, an in-house automatic movement, the watch has a jumping hour complication which is very hot nowadays, a retrograde hand telling the minutes, and another retrograde hand displaying the date.

Sporting a frequency of 28,800vph that ensures high precision of the watch, the mainspring of the movement is able to store enough energy for 45-hour using after fully wound.Given it is a jumping hour watch with two retrograde hands, the power reserve is adorable since a certain amount of energy is required when the mentioned hands jumps back the the starting position.

The balanced color scheme also attracts attention. It applies decent black as the ground color of the dial and uses a few different grey shades on other components. And a dash of red is used to highlight the “CAL 7722″ marked at 6 o’clock.

And my only complaint to this dial goes to the hour indicator. Personally, I think, the dial will look much better if all numerals on it used a uniform font.

The Octagonal case, sized at 43mm, is crafted from stainless steel. It is fitted with an AR-coated sapphire crystal that enhances the reading of the dial and is completed by a Black rubber with triple-bladed steel folding clasp. The watch is water resistant to 100 meters.

Something About Choosing a Watch As Present
Aug 27th, 2010 by Raven

As the watch industry is developing rapidly year by year, not only do their styles, but the functions and usage become wide-ranging and comprehensive. Therefore, it is more preferable for people all around the world to choose watches as presents naturally. And this article is about to discuss something you should notice when choosing watches as presents.

First of all, the demand, which means whether the one you want to present need a watch. This is the most fundamental question you should think about. Nowadays, the basic function of watch, timekeeping, has been set up in many other devices, such as mobiles, laptops, etc. It seems that a watch has become superfluous. In fact, however, the demand of watches never reduce since a watch is no longer a simple timer, in which case it implies that watches are still in need. So the first thing you should take into consideration is whether he needs it.

Secondly, the functions. As we have discussed above, it has turned up with divergent and multifunctional watches recently. After you determine to present a watch the second thing you should think about is with what functions will this watch be. To give a diving watch which is waterproof and can be even used to measure the water pressure to people who like diving. To present a hiking watch which is shockproof and has a compass on to people who like hiking. So the functions are of unsurpassed importance when choosing a watch.

Lastly, the style, including size, material, color, brand and so on. This is related to personal preferences. We dose not talk over too much here.

Through some notes we proposed above, you must have a better understanding of what should be pay attention to when choosing a watch as a gift. But whatever, whether a present is good depends on not only how wonderful and proper this present is but also how much time and energy you spend on it. Therefore, please devote more of yourself to the watch you are going to give.

Monterey, CA is a holy land for world’s car fans and enthusiasts. Each summer there holds Concours de Elegance-a world know car show and a series activities related to cars. People from all corners of the world flock there to appreciate fine cars. As the name suggests, this car shows is dedicated to showcase the elegance of cars. Each year, a panel of trusted judges work together to determine “Best of Show”. Personally, I do not car which is the best of show. I just come to discover the most interesting/ exotic cars exhibited there.

Horological Machine Number 3 Sidewinder watch

As a car lover, I finally get a chance to travel to Monterey this year. To match my exciting mood, I wear a Horological Machine Number 3 Sidewinder watch sponsored from MB&F. Regarded as one of the most luxurious(its price is equal to that of a mid-level luxury car)and exotic watch, this watch gives me a special gas that is not less powerful than those from the most luxurious car of the show.

At Pebble beach, toted a backpack and camera, I looked like a car lover who was also lensman or a member of the media. In this low-keyed way, I successfully avoided getting too much attention from others. But as you may know, most people come for such show are rich guy, and not a few are fine watch lovers as well. So I still turn some heads back there. And I know those people much have a knowledge of luxury watch world. For those who owns rare cars, it is pretty good to have a rare as well. And that is the reason I, as a part of the crowd, was discovered by some sharp eyes.

Besides that, I discovered something special there-a vintage Italian sports car made in 1970s. It matches the watch perfectly, not matter from form or temperament

Tips for Buying Diamonds by Internet
Aug 25th, 2010 by Raven

As Internet develops so fast in the modern world, people can make use of it to fulfill much daily work. For example, more and more people start to buy items by Internet. Nowadays, people in cities live a fast-paced life and they spend most of time working to earn money. Therefore, busy people can just purchase various products through Internet including precious items, for example, diamond. It’s well known that if we buy things in real shops, we can see them by ourselves. However, if we purchase items by Internet, we could just see the pictures. In other words, we take a risk to buy things through Internet and we can be cheated by some bad sellers. So what should we do when we purchase products via Internet? Here we take diamond buying as an example.

First, when buying diamond, we have to obtain some knowledge of it. The quality of diamond is assessed according to the standard of 4C. As we intend to buy diamond, we should ask the seller for details as many as possible. If he can not give us perfect answers, we’d better find another seller.  Second, we ought to select those sellers with great reputation. If a seller doesn’t have a good credit index, it is not wise for us to buy precious items from him. Third, we should ask for necessary certificates from sellers. Real and honest sellers always have complete certificates. Fourth, we should pay for diamond after we get it. Some cheaters always ask customers to pay them before they send goods to buyers. But honest sellers can accept buyers’ payment terms. Fifth, after we check the quality of diamond, we pay sellers. If we do not check diamond before payment, we can also be cheated. Sixth, we’d better get goods from Monday to Friday then we have enough time to check the quality of diamond in some professional institution.

Cheap Ritmo Mundo 314 Hercules Aluminum Watches
Aug 23rd, 2010 by Mabel Xie

Fashion watches are one of the key trends in watch market. Lots of watch brands are fighting to launch watches that are fashionable, sexy and reasonable-priced and take the market as quickly as the can. The most common method they use it to copy the look of some iconic diver watches and gives it bright colors for men and women. The 314 Hercules collection which is just launched by Ritmo Mundo is a very good example of this kind of fashion watches. Not like many other brands, Ritmo Mundo chooses aluminum rather than plastic that is less expansive and more fragile to construct these fashionable diver style watches. The aluminum, while is less stronger than steel, is quite light-weighted and much cheaper than titanium.

Ritmo Mundo 314

Sized at 46mm, the new Ritmo Mundo watches are quite large. The cases are comes with a number of colors including red, blue, blackish , gray, pink, violet and yellow. Most the these colors are OK for both men and women. But from the overall design, the watches seem to suit men much better.

The dial looks good, but the hands are a bit short. It is because of the big case and the use of the quartz movement. As we know, quartz movements can just accommodate hands that weigh a certain amount. So large watches with large dials always have problem when it comes to hands. I really hope the watch-making industry can develop a new quartz movement that can deal with bigger and heavier hands.

Ritmo Mundo 314 Hercules Aluminum Watches are completed with rubber straps in matching color of the dial. The price is very good at $325- you know a good replica watch even costs more than that. Personally, I think these watches suits the current hot days.
